Getting started
How it works

We run your drop as a pre-order — meaning your community places orders before we produce anything. Once you hit your minimum order quantity, we go into production. You get paid first, then we ship.

This means zero upfront cost for you, zero inventory risk, and zero guessing about whether demand exists. If you don't hit the minimum, orders are refunded and nothing gets made.

Minimums vary by product:

  • Vinyl records: 100 units minimum
  • Trading card sets: 25 sets minimum
  • Custom merch (apparel, accessories): varies by item, typically 12–24 units

We'll confirm the exact minimum for your specific project when we scope it together.

Most drops run for 2–4 weeks. We recommend a window long enough to hit your minimum but short enough to create urgency. Limited-edition scarcity is part of what makes this model work — open-ended drops lose momentum.

We'll help you set the right window for your audience size and product type.

No. That's the whole point. Certified Crucial is a fully managed service. We handle ideation, design (where needed), production coordination, quality checks, and fulfillment to your customers.

You focus on your audience. We handle the rest.

Revenue from your drop is collected through your Certified Crucial shop. After the drop closes and production costs are deducted, your payout is processed according to your creator agreement — typically within a few business days of fulfillment completion.

All payout terms are transparent and agreed upon before your drop launches. No surprises.

Product
Vinyl records

We offer three standard sizes:

  • 12" LP — up to ~22 minutes per side. The classic full album format.
  • 10" — up to ~12 minutes per side. Great for an EP or a highlights compilation.
  • 7" single — up to ~4–5 minutes per side. Perfect for a standout episode or short-form content.

Standard black vinyl is available at base pricing. Colored vinyl — including solid colors, splatter, swirl, and picture disc options — are available at an additional cost. We'll show you options when we scope your project.

Colored vinyl is one of the most powerful ways to make your drop feel like a true collectible. We highly recommend it.

We require high-quality audio files for mastering. Accepted formats:

  • WAV or AIFF — preferred. 24-bit, 44.1kHz or higher.
  • MP3 — acceptable at 320kbps minimum, though WAV is strongly preferred for best quality.

Your audio will go through a vinyl mastering process to optimize it for the format. We handle this as part of the production process.

Every vinyl drop includes:

  • The pressed vinyl record in your chosen color
  • A custom-designed jacket (we design this with you)
  • Inner sleeve
  • Polyethylene protective sleeve

Optional add-ons include insert cards, lyric sheets, stickers, and custom packaging. Ask us about bundle options when you start your project.

Interestingly — not necessarily. Research shows that around 50% of vinyl buyers don't own a record player. Vinyl resonates because it's a physical artifact of something people love, not just a playback format.

Your listeners will buy it to display it, gift it, and hold a piece of the show they care about. The record player is optional. The connection isn't.

Vinyl pressing is the longest production process we work with. From when your drop closes and files are finalized, expect:

  • Standard production: 10–14 weeks
  • Rush options: may be available depending on plant capacity — ask us when you scope your project

We'll communicate your timeline clearly before your drop opens so your audience knows exactly when to expect delivery.

Product
Trading cards

Our trading cards are printed to industry-standard specs:

  • Size: 2.5 x 3.5 inches (standard trading card size)
  • Stock: 18pt heavy-weight card stock
  • Print: Full color on both front and back
  • Coating: UV coating on both sides for durability and sheen
  • Packaging: Clear shrink-wrap film per set or deck

The quality is identical to what you'd buy from a retail card pack.

  • Set: Multiple copies of the same card packed together. Great if you want each buyer to get the same card.
  • Deck: Different cards packed together in one pack. Great for a character roster, episode highlights, or collectible series where each pack contains a variety.

Most podcast drops use decks — they create the most engagement and tradability within your community.

Yes. If you have your own designer or existing brand assets, you can supply print-ready artwork. Required specs:

  • Format: PDF, JPEG, or PNG
  • Artwork size: 2.75 x 3.75 inches (includes 0.125" bleed on each side)
  • Final trim size: 2.5 x 3.5 inches
  • Resolution: 300 DPI recommended

If you need design help, we can handle that too. Ask us about our design services when you start your project.

Trading cards are one of our fastest-turnaround products:

  • Standard production: 4–5 business days after files are approved
  • Express production: 3 business days (additional fee applies)
  • Rush production: 2 business days (additional fee applies)

Shipping time is additional and depends on your chosen method and location.

Product
Custom merch & drops

Beyond vinyl and trading cards, we produce a wide range of custom products including:

  • T-shirts, hoodies, and apparel
  • Hats and accessories
  • Enamel pins and stickers
  • Posters and art prints
  • Custom packaging and bundle boxes

If your audience would buy it and it fits your brand, we can probably make it. Reach out and let's talk.

Absolutely — and we recommend it. Bundle drops (e.g., vinyl + trading cards + a tee) perform strongly because they offer your audience a complete "world" rather than a single item. They also increase your average order value significantly.

We'll help you build a bundle that makes sense for your community and your price point.

We handle design as part of our full-service offering. You bring your brand, your ideas, and your vision — we work with you to bring it to life.

If you already have a designer or brand assets you want to use, that works too. We'll collaborate around whatever you bring.

Orders
Shipping & fulfillment

We ship domestically (US) and internationally. International shipping rates and delivery times vary by destination. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout for your customers.

Delivery time = production time + shipping time. Production timelines vary by product (see the product-specific sections above). Once shipped, standard US delivery is typically 3–7 business days.

We always communicate expected delivery windows clearly on the product page before your drop opens, so your audience knows exactly what to expect.

We stand behind what we make. If something arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, reach out to us at support@certifiedcrucial.com with a photo and your order details, and we'll make it right.

Because all products are made-to-order, we don't accept returns for change of mind. However, if your order arrives damaged or there's a production error, we'll replace or refund — no hassle.

If a drop doesn't hit its minimum order quantity, all orders are automatically refunded in full.

Partnership
Working with Certified Crucial

Apply to become a Certified Crucial Creator through our Build Your World page. Tell us about your show, your audience, and what you want to make. We'll reach out to scope the project together.

No upfront cost to apply or open a drop. Our pre-order model means production costs are covered by the revenue generated from your community before we produce anything. You don't pay to get started — your audience funds the run.

No. We work with indie creators at all audience sizes. What matters more than follower count is engagement — a deeply loyal audience of 500 will outperform a passive audience of 50,000 every time.

If your listeners show up for you, we can build something together.

Every creator partnership comes with a clear, written payout agreement before anything launches. We believe in transparent, ethical terms — you'll know exactly what you're receiving, when, and how, before a single order is taken.

Have questions about a specific arrangement? Reach out directly.

We're built for the podcast and audio creator community, but we're open to working with any indie creator who has a loyal, engaged audience and a genuine story to tell through product. Reach out and let's talk about what you're building.
